The CVCC Show Band will present two concerts this Fall. On Monday evening, November 2, at 7:30PM, the Show Band will give a free performance of rock and jazz in the CVCC Band Room. Two days later, On November 4 at 11:30AM, the Show Band will perform at CVCC's Fall Festival under the tent at Wilson Hall.
The CVCC Singers will present a Christmas Concert on Tuesday, December 9 at 7:00PM at Lakewood Baptist Church in Phenix City.

CVCC Show Band Concert
The Chattahoochee Valley Community College Show Band, under the direction of Tom Daniel, will be giving our Spring Jam Concert Tuesday evening, March 17, at 7:30PM EDT. We will be playing Kool & the Gang, War, Stanley Turrentine, Beatles (of course), John Coltrane, The Pretenders, and many others. Our Special Guest vocalists will be Tina Spurlock and Garrett Miles.
Admission is FREE.

Theater Auditions
Auditions for the spring play will be held Wednesday, December 10 from 12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. and again on Monday, December 15 from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. The auditions will be held in the chorus room in the Fine Arts Building both days. Students will do cold readings from the script. The plays we are considering are These Two Couples Went to Italy (5 people) and Story Theater (8 people). Auditionees will be required to take one of the Theater Workshop Classes.

MUSICAL OFFERINGS OF CVCC
Voice Class
The care and understanding of the way the voice works is crucial to proper and confident use. The goal of the voice class is to accumulate a vocal technique that works for you through the study of different styles and periods of music. Instructor is Mrs. Gayle Smith.
Piano Lab
Individualized piano study makes it possible for students to progress and their own rate from wherever they are. The class is open to basic beginners through advanced students. Some performance is required.
Instructor is Mrs. Gayle Smith.
Concert Choir
The Choir is open to all students by audition with Mrs. Smith and Dr. Daniel. Sightreading and music awareness are taught and are essential tools for singing. Outfit is provided. No text book required. This group will represent the college in various performance venues. Director is Mrs. Gayle Smith: 334-214-4844.
Show Band
Show Band is open to all students who play a musical instrument and are interested in playing jazz, pop, swing, and chamber classics. Band music and band shirts are provided, but instruments are not. The Show Band usually performs at least twice per semester in various venues. Director is Dr. Thomas Daniel: 334-291-4987.
Music Theory
Music Theory, and the accompanying lab, is a two-semester exploration of the harmonic principles of the Common Practice Period. Topics include principles of voice leading used in three- and four-part triadic harmony and diatonic seventh chords, non-chord tones, cadences, phrases, and periods.
Music Convocation
This course gives college credit for attending college-related music and theater performances, and is designed to expose students to a variety of repertory styles and gives students an opportunity to practice individual performance skills.
